Tuolumne Sunset
One of the perks of the summer clouds in Tuolumne Meadows is the high probability of a fabulous sunset. A few hours before this photo was taken, the meadows were exploding in thunder and lightning and hail. But as the sun goes down, the weather usually moderates in the high country of Yosemite, and the clouds become softly floating autumn leaves on the lake of the sky.
