Granite Wall
When one stands next to the unbelievable granite walls in the Valley, such as the Glacier Point "Apron" here, there is often quite a healthy growth of plants at their base. This is in part because all the rainfall (there is a fair bit of rain, even in the summer, due to the afternoon thunderstorms) slides down the granite wall to its base.
