Beware the Wily WhereWhenWhy

Beware the wily WhereWhenWhy

lives in your mind, not in your eye

A busy one, but what's he do?

he spins your wheels, two by two

Forward, backward, all around

you go nowhere, just stand your ground

He's so happy in his home

   underneath your furry dome

     (Chorus):

Beware the wily WhereWhenWhy

lives in your mind, not in your eye

He wants to keep you in a groove

('cause WhereWhenWhys don't like to move!)

So when he's hungry, what's he eat?

Its questions! That's his daily treat!

"Where you goin'?" , that's his first

you chew on that and feed his thirst

You think you're sure, but wonder "When?"

(and need you ask who's speaking then?)

Seems a thought worth waiting for

but if you pause, he'll have one more

(Chorus)

"So that's your where-when, is it? Why?"

"Why not stay here, you butterfly?"

"Or why not there? And why not then?"

(he chuckles as you start to spin)

Forward, backward, all around

you go nowhere, just stand your ground

A WhereWhenWhy has made his home

   underneath your furry dome

(Chorus)

NOTE: this song is part of a children's story written in poem form. Here is an mp3 file (2mb) of  the music:   WhereWhenWhy Music.

The BOLD words in the song are spoken by the WhereWhenWhy.

Here are some images showing the association of the musical melody and the words (a few changes have been made).  This is not a polished musical score; I put the melody to a score (and created the mp3 file)  using Harmony Assistant (from Myriad Software, France).  The main idea was to get the melody&words association on paper. The song is meant as a duet by two  musicians, one who sings the lead part and  one of whom joins in with a deep bass voice (for the WhereWHenWhy's wprds).
